Welcome to the 2012 Spring TearUp, celebrating our 8th year at Fish Creek Pond State Park
June 7-10, 2012 !
Wow! Well we have just barely wound down from the 2011 TearUp, and already we are making notes, and planning for next years event.
Final attendance count for the 2011 TearUp was 54 campsites, and 112 happy campers! Visit the Participants List for the list of campers. I've added thumbnails images for some who were missing one which should be useful to remember who was who!
For those somewhat new to the TearUp, I suggest downloading the TearUp Campers Guide.
Thursday night Kate and I hosted a campfire on our site which was fairly well attended, especially considering it had been raining a lot that day.
TheresaD hosted a beer tasting evening on her site on Friday which was attended by most of the campers! Definately a fun evening was had by all.
As well on Friday, Tom and Mary hosted an outdoor movie night featuring "The Long Long Trailer" and lots of popcorn.
Saturday Night Wine and Cheese
The last few years the wine and cheese on Saturday night were a HUGE success, and this year was no exception! To top it off the 120 or so campers in attendance ALL knew what Bryan was up to, except Amber! Lots of fun and excitement as Bryan proposed during the steal-a-gift-game.
Check out the TearUp 2011 movie and slideshow for all the action that night!
Supporting the Local Food Bank
Ed and Becky came up with this brilliant idea to give back to the community, and it was a huge success the last two years! This year I believe was the largest amount of food collect for the Food Drive. We were all sorry to hear Becky wouldn't be able to make it, and we all wished her well in getting better. John and Clare filled in however, and setup camp by the side of the road for collection on Saturday morning.
More About the TearUp
Visit the TearUp Discussion on the
fishcreekpond.com site to review the TearUp 2012 discussions, connect with the group, offer suggestions or ask questions about the TearUp.
NOTE: Campers will soon be asked to reserve their campsite with Reserve America, as in the past, and then register for the TearUp itself as a member on the Camers Forum. This will greatly reduced the registration process with so many people attending. I'll have the TearUp the ADK website setup for this sometime in the fall. I'll let you know when everything is ready.
Not familiar with the area or Fish Creek? Visit our consumate guide to Fish Creek
Pond for tons of info, the campsite guide with complete
details and multiple photos of each campsite, hundreds of photos and loads of videos. You can even ask Ranger Jill anything you
like. She'll be sure to help.
Remember EVERYONE IS WELCOME! You don't have to own a teardrop trailer to join this fun campout! Come one, come all!
Cheers
Dave
